Obituary

AMANDA L. CARVER, 30, of Belton, Missouri and formerly of Winfield, Kansas, peacefully passed away Monday evening, January 31, 2011 at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri.

Born on December 4, 1980 in Winfield, Kansas, she was the daughter of Marvin Hostetter and Cheryl (Greenleaf) Crow. She was raised and received her education in Winfield and graduated from Winfield High School in 2000. She attended Cowley County Cosmetology School. She was a member of the Kansas City Chapter of TRIO (Transplant Recipients International Organization, Inc.)

Amanda loved life, family, spending time with friends and her animals. She also enjoyed camping, fishing, vacationing and going to pet stores.

Her paternal step-grandfather: Dean Crow of Winfield, KS;
Her paternal step-grandparents: Harold and Virginia Peters of Winfield, KS;
Her uncles: John A. Greenleaf of Winfield, KS; Larry Greenleaf of Lemont, PA; and Michael Greenleaf of Des Moines, IA; Phillip and Rita Hostetter of Andover, KS; and Keith and Susan Hostetter of Winfield, KS;
Her aunts: Lisa Dewberry and husband Jim of Raymore, MO; and Susan Long and husband Darrell of Winfield, KS;
Her faithful and comforting dogs, Lucy and Freckles and cat, Ringo.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, John F. Greenleaf; her paternal grandparents, Verl and Martha Hostetter and Audine Hostetter; and her paternal step-grandmother, D. Joan Crow.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, February 5, 2011 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M., Friday, February 4, 2011. The family will greet friends from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M., that evening.

Memorials have been established in Amanda's name for the St. Luke's Hospital Cardio Vascular ICU and Transplant nurses and the Cowley County Humane Society. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
