ALVIN MARTIN, 48, of Winfield, passed away Thursday morning, September 24, 2009 at his home.

Born January 4, 1961, in Winfield, he was the son of Allen V. Sr. and Patsy Ann (Jones) Martin. He was raised and received his education in Winfield, attending Winfield High School.

Alvin worked as a truck driver and worked for Rawhide Trucking for 15 years. He enjoyed seeing the country as he hauled goods all over the country. He also enjoyed collecting CB radios and loved spending time with his dog, Mugsley.

His brother: Allen V. Martin Jr. and wife, Kathy of Winfield;
His sisters: Gloria Stoddard and husband, Gilbert of Winfield; Teresa Wylie and husband, Rick of Derby; Linda Miller and husband, Dean of Leroy;
His uncle: Houston Martin and wife, Zelda of Pacific, MO
His aunt: Mary Lee Johnson of Baldwin, MO
His daughter: Dayna Lynn Davidson; and
His grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Alvin was preceded in death by his brother Anvil Martin, and uncle Alvin Martin.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment will be held at 1:00 P.M. at the Eden Cemetery in Milton, Kansas. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday September 28, 2009 from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. The family will greet visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 that evening.

Memorials have been established in Mr. Martin's name for St. Jude children's research, and the American Heart Association. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
