Alma 'May' Yvonne Everett's Obituary
ALMA 'MAY' YVONNE EVERETT, 58, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Friday evening, November 18, 2011 at her home.
Alma was born on September 9, 1953. She began residing at the Winfield State Hospital and Training Center in 1973. She lived there for 22 years and then moved to Southwinds. Alma had also resided at Mosaic and later the host home of Fred & Linda Koonce for 8 years. She currently was living with her host family, Victor, Tina & Israel Walker.
She attended the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Arkansas City, Kansas. She also volunteered at the Winfield Thrift Store. Alma loved attention and to be the life of the party. She dressed to impress wit her hats, shoes and glasses.
Alma will be deeply missed by her host families, Casein Kyriss (boy), Israel Walker (baby), her guardian, Rhonda Jordan, her cat Thomas O'Mally and the numerous caregivers, the staff at Mosaic and many longtime friends from the Winfield State Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 22, 2011. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.
Memorials have been established in Alma's name for Mosaic and to help with funeral expenses. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
