Allen V. Martin, Jr., 69, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Wednesday morning, June 1, 2022, at his home.
Born July 18, 1952, in Winfield, he was the son of Allen V. Martin, Sr. and Patsy A. (Jones) Martin. He was raised and received his education in Winfield, attending Winfield High School. He later attended Cowley County Community College.
He was united in marriage to Kathy Boyle on June 8, 1973, at the First Church of the Nazarene in Winfield. The couple made their home in Winfield. Allen spent his life working at several area businesses, including B&S Oil Service, Binney & Smith, Safeway, and Morton Buildings. He was a member of the American Bowling Association bowling for leagues in Walnut Valley, Arkansas City, Ponca City, and Wichita. In addition to bowling he enjoyed water skiing, and skating.
His family includes his wife Kathy Martin of Winfield; his children, James Martin of Winfield; Katrina Jackson of Winfield; Heather Golay and husband, Jimmy of Arkansas City; Konnor Martin of Wichita; Austin Martin of Mt. Hope; his sisters, Teresa Wylie and husband, Rick of Derby; Gloria Stoddard and husband, Gilbert of Winfield; his grandchildren, Herbert Jackson, Jr., Ronnie Jackson, Myles Jackson, Daymon Bultmann, Jon Coy, Alynna Martin, Haleigh Colbert, Liam Hoang, Nathan Golay, Amanda Storey, Courtney Nahlous, Tiffani Chouteau, Spencer Golay, Sye Bounvoungxay, Harold Golay, Ashley Golay; and his great grandchildren, Hayden, Benton, Brinleigh, Blakelin, and Beckham Chouteau; Raelee and Teagan Golay; Riley and Asher Bultmann.
In addition to his parents, Allen was preceded in death by two brothers, Anvil and Alvin Martin, and a sister Linda Miller.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, June 6, 2022, at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. A visitation is scheduled at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 2 to 6 P.M. The family will greet visitors from 2 to 4 P.M.
A memorial has been established in Allen's name for the American Lung Association. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
