Alice C. Williams, 89, formerly of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Thursday afternoon, January 4, 2024, at Derby Health and Rehab.

Born January 28, 1934, in Atlanta, Kansas, she was the daughter of Charles and Cora (Bloom) Need.  She was raised and received her education in Atlanta, graduating from Atlanta High School in 1952.

Alice was united in marriage to Harold Williams on November 10, 1955, at the First Christian Church in Winfield.  The couple made their home in Douglass for many years, moving to Winfield in 1975.  Alice worked for the Cowley County Treasurer's Office from 1976 until her retirement in 1995.  Harold preceded her in death on July 12, 2018.  They enjoyed traveling and especially loved spending time with their family.

Her family includes her step-children, Charlene and Denny of Oklahoma; her nephew and nieces, Larry White and wife, Lori of Douglass; Donna White-Smith and husband, Jack of Branson, MO; Malinda MacKay and husband, Ron of Mulvane; and many other nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law.

UPDATE 1/22/2024:  Due to concerns for the icy roads, the funeral service for Alice will be delayed to 1:00 P.M., Monday, January 22, 2024 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield.  Interment will follow at the Atlanta Cemetery.  A visitation is scheduled on Sunday from 2 to 5 P.M. at the funeral home.  The family will greet visitors from 2 to 4 that afternoon.
