Obituary

ALICE E. FLOWER, 87, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Thursday afternoon, January 8, 2015 at Riverview Manor in Oxford.

Born on January 10, 1927 in Winfield, Kansas, she was the daughter of William "Bill" and Ethel E. (Garber) Workman. She was raised and received her education in Winfield and graduated from Winfield High School.

Alice was united in marriage to Edwin "Red" Charles Flower on July 13, 1946 in Winfield. The couple owned and operated Flower Plumbing and Heating from 1957 until the early 1980's, where she worked as a secretary. Mr. Flower preceded her in death on October 25, 2006.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Winfield, the Ruth Circle, the Social Order of Beauceant, National Campers and Hikers Association, and the Good Sam Club. Alice had also served as Girl Scout Leader. Her hobbies included camping, traveling, crafts and sewing.

Her family includes:
Her daughters: Linda Kay Huff of Winfield, KS; and Cheri Lyn Wogoman and Ray Faber of Winfield, KS;
Her grandchildren: Kenneth Huff, Melody Everett, Dustin Wogoman and Justin Wogoman;
Her great-grandchildren: Andrew and Matthew Everett, Anna, Bethany and Sam Huff, Ashley, Breanna and Cody Wogoman, Briley Williams, Autumn and Chloe Borror, Dragyn Thomas, Isabella Thomas and Lydia Howard; and
Her sister: Nina Spoon of Winfield, KS.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Cherilyn Huff.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at Miles Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Monday, January 12, and the family will greet friends from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M., that evening.

Memorials have been established in Alice's name for the First Baptist Church and Riverview Manor. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
