Albert Arthur Jarboe, 95, of Cedar Vale, Kansas, passed away Saturday morning, January 8, 2011 at Winfield Rest Haven.

Born December 14, 1915 in Arkansas City, Kansas he was the son of William and Motha (Ballinger) Jarboe. He was raised and received his education east of Rome, Kansas.

Albert was united in marriage on June 12, 1936 to Juanita Marie Russell in Newkirk, Oklahoma. The couple made their first home on Albert's grandfathers place east of Rome. In 1938 they moved to Cedar Vale, where Albert worked the land as a farmer and rancher. He was also active in the community, serving on the Township for over 28 years.

His great-grandchildren: Travis Jarboe of Arkansas City; Emily Jarboe of Cedar Vale; Jevyn Voss of Winfield; Jaden Voss of Winfield; JaeLee Voss of Winfield; Nicole Walker of Wichita; Nura Haroual of Wichita; Sarah Jarboe of Lampasas, TX; Tucker Jarboe of Lampasas, TX; Stockton Jarboe of Lampasas, TX; Olivia Jarboe of Wichita; Owen Jarboe of Wichita.

In addition to his parents, Albert was preceded in death by: two sons: Glenn Jarboe; Lenard Jarboe; two brothers: Bill Jarboe; Arnold Jarboe; one sister: Alice Cooper; and an infant sister.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at the Baptist Church in Cedar Vale. Interment will follow at the Cedar Vale Cemetery. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service from 1:00 to 5:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 11, 2011.

A memorial has been established in Mr. Jarboe's name for the People's Place in Cedar Vale. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
