Obituary

Alan D. Lewis, 80, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Sunday afternoon, August 2, 2020 at William Newton Hospital.

Born September 30, 1939 near the Floral community in Cowley County, he was the son of LeRoy Earl and Mary Stuber Lewis. He was raised and received his education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School in 1958. Following high school, Alan attended Kansas State University.

Alan farmed as well as worked at Boeing Aircraft in the tool crib. He was a member of Grandview United Methodist Church and most recently had been virtually attending services at Hackney Baptist Church. He was also a long time member of the Winfield Masonic Lodge #110. He remained a K-State fan and enjoyed genealogy and watching sports. He loved his family and loved to socialize. He had a great sense of humor.

His family includes his brother Dee Lewis and wife, Edna of Winfield; his sister Marjorie Abel of Winfield; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to his parents, Alan was preceded in death by brothers, Walter Henry Lewis and Dan Lewis, and sisters, Barbara Joan Lewis, Betty Bourne, and Katherine Taylor.

Graveside funeral services will be held on Friday, August 7, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. at Wilmot Cemetery north of Winfield. A visitation is scheduled at Miles Funeral Service on Thursday evening from 5 to 8. The family will greet visitors from 5 to 6 that evening.

Memorials have been established in Alan's name for Grandview United Methodist Church, Hackney Baptist Church, or for the charity of the donor's choice. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
